Just design goodness. Chunky or smooth.
I was asked by author Amanda Goodchild if I'd help her get her fabulous illustrated children’s story to publication. I've done book design before, but never a children's book, so this was a first for me.
I helped plan out the book, assisted in selecting the illustrator and created all the layouts. I wanted to create large colourful spreads, which immersed the reader in the story, not restricting the imagery into boxes, but letting it fill the whole page. I made the words themselves come to life, using typography in illustrative ways, rising and falling, getting larger and smaller, in time with the story.
It's a super story, beautifully illustrated and it was an absolute pleasure to design.
